Celebrate The Rain
Ahh rain, that lovely coat of shine! Granted, too much rain can cause untold amounts of trouble but those little low-key drizzles are too often maligned. Why is that? As kids we used to love the rain. But now it inspires grumbles of protest. One of the best ways to get right with rain again is to celebrate it by welcoming it like an old friend. A good way to start is by taking advantage of all the fun stuff out there, items that wouldn’t exist if not for rain.
Wellingtons. Come on, who can resist those lovely boots? There are few better ways to play in the rain than by wearing some cheap wellies to go stomping in puddles with. Has the grey got you down? Go for vibrant colours and patterns and see your feet smile!
Macs are another fun way to enjoy the rain. Coats can range in style and levels of warmth, with the most versatile options offering removable inner linings. Make sure that if you get one with a rubber outer shell that the inside is lined with a much more comfortable fabric such as a cotton blend. You could go for a drab black or tan, which would work if you want to be neutral, but bold colours are a fun choice, too.
And umbrellas have gotten so elaborate that they can be anything from business billboards to walking pieces of art! I’ve got one that depicts the rose window of Notre Dame and it brings a smile to everyone who sees it.
However you choose to celebrate the rain, remember that you’ve got the chance to share in other peoples’ misery or an opportunity to lift some spirits as you trek from here to there. The choice is up to you!
